On October 19th, 2011 the Texas Music Hall of Fame® made its’ debut at the kick off party in Austin. The coming out party was both fun-filled and star-studded. Texas music icons like Paul Wall and Lee Roy Parnell were on hand to enjoy the festivities, among many others. The event was highlighted by a live performance by San Antonio’s up-and-coming brother band “The Zots”. It was an idyllic autumn evening that not only welcomed the crisp fall breeze, but also a new Texas music powerhouse.

The Curtain is Finally Rising on the Texas Music Hall of Fame®.
Artists will be on hand for October 19 kick off in Austin.

Turn on the radio and the song that is playing was likely written or influenced by a Texan.

"The creation of the Texas Music Hall of Fame® is long overdue," said Edward Z. Fair, Executive Director of The Texas Music Hall of Fame®. "Texans have had a tremendous impact on the development of all styles of music in the United States and around the world."

The Texas Music Hall of Fame® Kick-Off Party is taking place on the grounds of GSD&M headquarters in Austin on October 19, 2011.

Texas Music Hall of Fame® Members Print

One of our primary functions will be the annual induction of Texas Music Hall of Fame® members.  We will start the induction process in 2012.  The first members will be announced in the spring of 2012. 

Look for a big Texas Music Hall of Fame® induction event and concert in the fall of 2012.  In the coming months, watch for exact dates and details regarding the announcement of the 2012 members and the fall event.  You can find more information about the selection process at Selection Process and Criteria.
